Beautiful historic home located in the Sterling Grove National Historic District, Lafayette, Louisiana.

We purchased the house 16 years ago, and have dedicated our time to thoughtfully bring new life and elegance into the home, while honoring the original design and architectural style.

Count Olivier Chatelain de Pronville grew up in Europe in a house that has been in his family for over 300 years and has brought a european castle feeling mixed with southern antebellum style to the interior.

We enjoy old houses for they have souls and take you back to an era where craftsmanship had high integrity. This home was very well built and our renovations worked with the existing structure while also modernizing whenever possible.

The house offers undeniable serenity. We worked diligently to save a piece of Lafayette’s history, while maintaining the charm and splendor of a too often forgotten time. This house is the yin and yang of traditional and modern living.

The home is filled with happy memories shared by families and friends from the initial McFaddin owners to our family. It has much to give and we are excited that the new owner will get to experience it with their family and guests, whichever vision they have for her.

Charm and Character of an Old Home.

The McFaddin House (circa. 1904) is built in the Queen Anne Revival style with an Eastlake gallery.

Distinguishing features include the double polygonal bay front windows, a front façade flanked by a double gallery that includes spindle work frieze, lace-like brackets and delicate spindlework porch supports. The double gallery are decorated with turned posts and jigsaw cut brackets.

Wainscotting and doors topped by transom windows regulate the temperature and take you back in the turn of the century elegant Victorian era.
